FAQs

How much do you charge?

1:1 lessons start from £55 per hour, group lessons start from £45 per hour per person. Final pricing depends on location, group size, and frequency. You’ll get best rates when you sign up for a package.

How does payment work?

Once we agree on your lesson time, I will send you my bank details so you can pay for you lesson in advance.

Do I have to sign up for regular lessons before my child meets you?

  • Each new client receives a consultation over the phone.

  • After this, we will agree on a regular weekly slot for you or your child to receive tutoring.

  • I will then hold your weekly slot and you will pay for the first lesson. You need to decide within 24 hours of the lesson if you want to continue otherwise your slot won’t be secured.

  • After the first lesson, you decide if you want to continue with one-off lessons or keep your regular weekly time, at a discounted rate.

Where do lessons take place?

Tutoring can take place in the comfort of your own home, in person or via online video using Zoom.

Are my children safe?

Yes! I have an enhanced DBS. I can also provide you with excellent references from two outstanding schools.

Can you guarantee my child’s success?

While I cannot give you a 100% guarantee that your child will gain entrance to his or her preferred school, or gain the top grades, I can give you my personal assurance that I will do my utmost to improve their academic attainment and self-belief. Tutoring is a three way relationship between child, parent and tutor, which means that we will all need to work together to achieve the best for your child.

How do I know how my child is getting on?

You will receive regular half-termly updates on your child’s progress via email, detailing what they have learnt and what they need to do to progress further.

Do you teach adults?

Yes! I have experience teaching children, teenagers and adults.

I’m not in a position to invest in 1:1 lessons, but I know my child would really benefit from tutoring. Can you help?

Absolutely. The more people there are in a group, the lower the price. So you can get a group of up to four children or adults together to keep the cost down. Alternatively, I run half-termly and holiday booster classes for SATS and the 11+ entrance exams, for up to ten children.

Can I change or cancel a lesson I previously booked?

Please ensure you give at least 24 hours' notice of your wish to cancel or re-schedule a pre-booked lesson. The tutor will endeavor to do the same. Outside of the 24 hour period - where possible - lessons will be re-scheduled at a time agreed. Lessons changed/missed within 24 hours of the time booked will be charged in full. For block bookings paid in advance, these fees will be deducted from the block payment.
